Brisbane business events ready to pop at annual industry showcase

25 JULY 2024

Brisbane’s world-class meeting and conference offerings will take center stage at the city’s signature industry showcase for business event hosts, Brisbane Pop-Up, on Thursday 22 August.

Brisbane Economic Development Agency’s (BEDA) annual trade show, now in its 17th year, will spotlight more than 60 local venues, hotels and event services at the Pullman Brisbane King George Square.

The Star Brisbane, Brisbane’s hottest new business events offering, is set to be one of the highlights among a diverse mix of meeting, incentive, conference and exhibition suppliers being showcased.

Registrations are now open to attend the free industry networking opportunity.

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said Brisbane Pop-Up is a chance to showcase the best of Brisbane’s business events offering, all in one place.

Brisbane Pop-Up creates an opportunity for local and national event organisers to discover the full diversity of Brisbane’s impressive accommodation, meeting and event service offerings, all under one roof,” Cr Schrinner said.

“Brisbane is a city made for hosting events. With state-of-the-art conference facilities, our vibrant outdoor lifestyle, and world-leading hotels, restaurants and experiences, Brisbane is an ideal location to stage memorable business events and global industry conferences."

“Event organisers worldwide have their eyes on our city in the lead up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. As more and more events are secured and delivered, Team Brisbane will continue to welcome delegates for unparallelled collaboration, networking and knowledge-sharing experiences.”

BEDA Chief Executive Officer Anthony Ryan said Brisbane Pop-Up would contribute to the city’s growing pipeline of high-profile local and international business events.

Brisbane Pop-Up is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses and suppliers to connect and do business while also collaborating to keep raising the bar of Brisbane’s delegate offerings and experiences,” Mr Ryan said.

“Brisbane’s business events calendar is packed, with BEDA and our venue partners like Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre securing an additional $100M worth of events for the city last year.

“This year’s Brisbane Pop-Up event is an event not to be missed for event planners, who can connect with the city’s diverse range of tailored products, bespoke experiences and venue and accommodation options.”

Business events play an integral role in supporting Brisbane’s visitor economy, which was worth $10.6 billion last year. Conference and convention delegates stay in Brisbane’s hotels, enjoy the city’s lifestyle precincts and restaurants and soak up retail and tourism experiences across the city.
