Business events mean serious business for Brisbane – with the sector forecast to deliver over $125 million in economic impact this calendar year alone and a growing pipeline of future opportunities on the horizon.
That momentum continues Tuesday, 26 August, as the city’s flagship trade event for meetings, incentives and conferences, Brisbane Pop-Up, returns to the Sofitel Brisbane Central, uniting over 70 local venues, hotels, and service providers under one roof.
Brisbane Economic Development Agency’s (BEDA) signature tradeshow will spotlight the city’s full spectrum of business event capabilities to decision-makers and industry leaders.
Registrations are now open for the free networking and trade opportunity, designed for business event professionals seeking to explore Brisbane’s ever-evolving offering.
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said Brisbane Pop-Up was an opportunity to grow the city’s business events pipeline and connect local industry with buyers.
“Brisbane Pop-Up gives event organisers a one-stop-shop to explore everything the city has to offer and to meet the people who can bring those experiences to life,” Cr Schrinner said.
“It’s also a powerful opportunity for our local suppliers to build new partnerships and showcase how Brisbane delivers bold, tailored and unforgettable events.
“This year alone, business events supported by BEDA, are expected to deliver up to $125 million in economic impact for Brisbane and Pop-Up plays a role in keeping that momentum strong.”
BEDA Chief Executive Officer Anthony Ryan said the event presented a unique opportunity for event planners to experience firsthand the breadth of Brisbane’s capabilities.
“As a business events destination, Brisbane is setting a new benchmark for delegates from around the world,” Mr Ryan said.
“From award-winning venues and accommodation to unforgettable visitor experiences, events like Brisbane Pop-Up highlight the depth and diversity of Brisbane’s offering for business events.”
With Brisbane’s visitor economy injecting more than $11 billion into the city, business events are more than just gatherings – they are a catalyst for growth, investment and global visibility for Brisbane.
