Brisbane's thriving business services sector has the highest growth of any major Australian city. These services are a catalyst for a growing knowledge economy.

Brisbane also has double the share of employees working in engineering design and consulting services than Sydney and Melbourne, and a higher share of employees working in legal services than all other capital cities.

Brisbane has the highly skilled, tertiary-educated workforce to fill these roles, with a higher percentage of residents attending university than the Australian average. Brisbane’s major universities – The University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology and Griffith University – are highly awarded, with The University of Queensland ranked Australia's #1 university.
