The Gladstone Ports Corporation Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race returns for its 77th year, setting sail on Good Friday, 18 April 2025. Hosted by the Queensland Cruising Yacht Club (QCYC), this iconic offshore race challenges sailors across a 308 nautical mile course from Brisbane to Gladstone.
First held in 1949, the race has grown into one of the country's most recognised ocean races. It has earned national and international attention while remaining a proud Queensland tradition.
Join thousands of spectators along the Moreton Bay shoreline or Shorncliffe Pier for a front row seat to the race start. The fleet begins two miles east of the pier, navigating through Moreton Bay and north along the coast to the finish at Gladstone Harbour.
At the heart of the competition is the Courier Mail Cup, one of Australia's oldest perpetual trophies. Presented to the IRC Overall Winner, it remains one of the most highly regarded prizes in Australian offshore sailing.
The race finish coincides with the Easter in Gladstone festivities. Crews, families and visitors come together to celebrate with entertainment, food and community events across the Easter weekend.
Watch the race live - Spectators can catch the action from the Shorncliffe Pier and Moreton Bay shoreline or stream it live on Kayo Freebies, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
